Federation Internationale de Football Association commonly known as FIFA is the international governing or administrative body of association football.Its membership comprises of 209 National associations.Its headquater is situated at Zurich,Switzerland and its current president is Sepp Blatter.It was formed 109 years ago from present date on 21st may 1904 with the motto of “For the Game.For the World.”
FIFA is responsible for the organsation and supervision of football’s major international tournaments,notably the World Cup,held in every four years and also the Confederation Cup(warm up tournament for the world cup),held in same interval of time.FIFA also supervises many other international friendy matches and also the regional World Cup qualifiers.Every year it also gives away the “Ballon’d OR” award for the player of the year(both men and women).
FIFA uses English,French,German and Spanish as its official language. Its gives worldwide service with affiliation with International Olympic Committee (IOC).
