Football in Nepal and ANFA

        In Nepal football is supposed to be initiated at around 1921 during the Rana regime.At that time only few people knew about football but at present, due to worldwide increasing popularity of football,the game has been the most popular game in the country.
      All Nepal Football Asociation,commonly known as ANFA is the major administrative body of Nepalese football.It was founded on 1951 and was affiliated to FIFA and AFC on 1970 and 1971 respectively.Its headquater is at Satdobato,Kathmandu.Ganesh Thapa is the current president of ANFA.
        ANFA is responsible for the national team as well as club competitions.ANFA always publishes a yearly calendar for the planned schedule for the organization of different club level tournaments.Major tournaments organized by Anfa are A division league,B division League,C division League,Coca-cola Inter School cup,different age level competiotions,etc.Other tournaments like Gurkha cup,Buda Subba Gold cup,Aaha Gold cup,etc are held under the supervision of.ANFA.
